In most cases, just very few people have heard the name “Mosel Pomace” but many people know the Italian specialty “Grappa”. Apart from the name and origin, the two pomace brandies are very similar. Of course, there are slight differences in the production process, but the basic process as well as the taste are comparable and so the marc could be called "Grappa of the Mosel".
Basic product for the production are pressed grapes, which are processed into high-proof by distillation. Our marc has a light-yellow shimmering color and notes of wooden barrels can be seen in the nose as on the tongue. Despite the high alcohol content, our Mosel Pomace has a soft finish and is especially suitable for consumption after a hearty meal.
