As the name suggests, our "Mosel Kräuer" (Engl.: Mosel Herbs) is a liqueur made from herbs growing at the Mosel area. Compared to a herbal bitter, this liqueur is delicate in the finish and is characterized by great extracts and a fine sweetness. It is precisely this sweetness that makes the difference, because from a sugar content of 100 g / liter and 15 percent alcohol by volume, one speaks of a liqueur. A herbal bitter, on the other hand, is characterized by a high alcohol content, less sweetness and a bitter taste.
Both variants have their origins in pharmacies as well as in monasteries, which are said to have digestive properties. Nowadays there are many herbal bitters and liqueurs, but a liqueur made from Mosel herbs is something special.
