A mellowed white wine with a subdued sweetness and a smooth as well as bloomy note which will convince especially the semi-sweet wine lovers. You should try it to an apple pie or to desserts in general.
In terms of bouquet, our Kerner is even more aromatic than Riesling and also has moderate acidity and a rather low alcohol content, so that a second or third glass of wine can be tasted without any problems.
Generally speaking, the Kerner varietal was established in 1929 and is a crossing of the Trollinger and the white Riesling variety. Since then it delights us with interesting white wines and became popular and present rapidly in all German wine areas. You can find Kerner wines in all quality classifications up to the Auslese and if you can reach a long maturing time in harvest, the must weight can be even higher as at the Riesling grapes.
