This red wine is dry matured and develops a powerful and full-bodied taste on the palate. To reach the maximum enjoyment of this wine from the Mosel, you should open it one hour before it is getting served or even better you decant it in a nice jar. This dry red wine is a perfect fit to dark meat like venison or lamb as well as to fondue.
Our dry Dornfelder underlines that even if the Mosel region is more known for its white wines, also the red wines are well established since several decades and convince with high quality. The demand for red wine from the Mosel is growing steadily and we see a very positive impact at our winery.
This Dornfelder is not as heavy as typical red wines form the south of Europe. It is dry but still fruity which does not make it appear extremely dry and you will not get a furry tongue. You will just taste outstanding aromas combined with a great flavour.
